Environmental & Land Use Law

Environmental laws and regulations increasingly impact almost every business, real estate transaction, and even residential property use and transactions. We have experience in the wide range of issues property owners, developers, and businesses face in this area. We represent both private parties and municipalities, and advise clients on environmental matters ranging from obtaining permits; responding to federal, state, and local environmental agencies' enforcement actions; private party disputes and litigation; and regulatory compliance issues. We have had broad success in assisting clients with the wide range of environmental laws, including Massachusetts Chapter 21E and the Massachusetts Contingency Plan regulations, Chapter 21C and hazardous waste management matters, the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and Conservation Commission issues, and underground storage tank regulations. We also have extensive experience in permitting and regulatory compliance issues associated with solid waste landfills and solid waste management issues.
Getting the right advice early on or in anticipation of a future problem keeps potentially costly environmental issues manageable and resolving them cost-effective. From environmental site assessments for real estate transactions or environmental audits for business transactions, to pollution insurance claims under liability or property insurance, we can help you find the right answers in the environmental and land use law area.
